현재 한양대학교 물리학과에 재직중인 김재용교수는 서강대학교를 졸업하고 미국 Washington University in St. Louis에서 이학박사학위를 취득하였다.
박사학위 후 나노흡착, 준결정체구조 및 응용, 산화물 박막 분야등에서 60여편 이상의 논문을 출간하였고 현재 한국물리학회, 미국물리학회 회원으로 활동하고 있다.

연구개요
The contents of our research cover three topics: 1) surface adsorption of gas molecules on metal oxides, 2) dynamics of hydrogen under extreme condition including storage and permeation, and 3) synthesis and analysis of transparent thin films. The first topic includes the structure and dynamics of noble and toxic gas molecules on various metal oxide surfaces having a large surface are,a and aims at reducing atmospheric pollutants using nano meter sized particles in an atomic scale. The second topic includes the understanding of the mechanisms on hydrogen storage and permeation in various types of media such as porous materials, nanotubes or TiZr-based metal hydrides in a metastable state. Recently, dynamics of hydrogen under extreme condition, ultra-high pressure and high temperature are under investigation. The third topic includes the synthesis and analysis of transparent thin films. All these researches utilize national research facilities such as synchrotron X-ray, neutron diffraction beams at various locations in the world in addition to the basic fabrication and analysis instruments in a laboratory.For more information, please click, http://hpc.hanyang.ac.kr/
