Experimental manifestation of electronic characteristics of quantum matter via advanced electron spectroscopy

Quantum materials such as strongly correlated electron systems and topological materials exhibit diverse phases depending on external conditions which bring various electron interactions and symmetry breaking. In general, the electronic structure reflects the footmark of electronic behavior including information of interactions, symmetries, and even the topology of the systems with regard to the distinct phases. In this regard, it is highly desired to experimentally manifest the electronic structure of various materials that can allow to practically understand the corresponding phases.
In this talk, I will present several interesting examples of which characteristics have been precisely understood by virtue of experimental examination for their electronic behaviors using advanced angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy – a powerful experimental technique that can directly measure the electronic structure. Together with those results, I will briefly introduce a new way to explore the multidimensional phase diagram of novel quantum matter via electron spectroscopy using various control parameters.
